New to Mecca/September 2018
Mecca New Arrivals
What's new at Mecca Cosmetica & Maxima? Plenty.
Youtube's Beauty Guru culture has undeniably turned me into a make-up/beauty collector. So it's fair to say when a new blush pink box from Mecca arrives in the mail, life is great. New make-up and skin products get me so so excited to test out and look at (great packaging is the one true vibe), so sit back and relax and let's chat through what's new to Mecca Cosmetica and Maxima this month...
Firstly, let's talk skin. One of my fave beauty brands Omorovicza has come out with a gel-to-oil-to-milky balm cleanser that smells exactly like a spa. I love these types of cleansers for taking off make-up, pair it with a muslin cloth or face towel heated under hot water, and it's the perfect combo for removing every trace of a heavy duty full coverage situation.
Mixing skin and make-up, the Mermaid Collection from Rodin Olio Lusso (in collaboration with artist Donald Robertson) is such a sight for sore eyes. A triple plus for packaging and concept - a tri-layered body oil featuring oils, hyaluronic acid and glycerin - so innovative. The illuminating products in the collection are definitely something to swatch in person. Choose the the powder if you like a blinding highlight (there's nothing subtle about this one) or opt for the liquid for a bit of versatility, i.e. mix in with your foundation for a glowy finish or mix in with the body oil for super shiny limbs.
Speaking of shiny, I've got my hands on 2 palettes worth checking out - the Nars Atomic Blonde Eye and Cheek Palette and the Bare Minerals Gen Nude Copper Eyeshadow Palette. When it comes to mini, travel friendly palettes, Nars is my go-to, and if I'm feeling in the mood for warm tones (aka always), this is the palette I'll be reaching. The palette features 2 shimmers, 2 pressed glitters and a highlight and bronzer that works amazingly for tan skin tones. And just in case you were wondering, yes, you need another warm toned palette in your collection.
And finally, the home. Anya Hindmarch Smells. Literally. Her new line of candles are a nice change from what we usually expect from AH. Quirky scents like Baby Powder, Toothpaste and Sun Lotion are made chic with fragrance notes of much loved scents like vanilla, rose and bergamot. My Baby Powder candle smells completely lush (oriental with a hint of musk) - exactly how you'd expect boujee baby powder to smell ha!
